Budgeting!? Waste of time - or time get on board?

I know you are sick of hearing the awful awful word 'Budgeting' but more and more of us are finding ourselves using it of a justification, both at work and at home.

'We are unable to attend the event/run the event like last year or at all due to cuts'
'I can't attend the brillaint night out that you've planned due to lack of funds'

It officially sucks!

I know that people and families have been doing it for years but I guess that people in their circle of friends 'get it'. But when you are young (I use this term loosely) do your friends really get it? Do mine?

When we were 15 and had no real means of income you dealt with it and still managed to be out all weekend and have a great time.

Now I find myself arguing over silly things with friends, such as 'Yes, I'll come but I'm not going to drink' usually ends up with a reply of 'well ,we might as well not go at all, if you're not going to drink!' then quickly followed with a short really of 'If we can't have a good night without drinking then we have problems!'

As you can imagine this never goes down well and so the sulking / pouting beings!

Over the past two months, I got a shape shock about my spending habits and I had to make some drastic changes to my spending. I haven't bought a single item of clothing, make-up, accessory or beauty item (hair product/cut or nails).

Well done to me but how boring, especially when you accompany your boyfriend on a rare shopping trip for him!

Hopefully, through my budgeting I will come across some tips/great finds that I shall share, cause if theres one thing I can share right now - is that it is hard!
Regardless of if you have been doing it for years or have just started like me.

Wish me luck this month.
