So like many people, I decide every year I am going to lose a little bit of weight, get fit and generally tone up! Well after many years of coming round to the idea - I've finally decided that this year is the year I actually do it!
Before Christmas I joined my works gym, completed my induction and attended one gym session - and enjoyed it. But I decided that it wasn't enough, I needed a goal to work towards, well a realistic goal.
The Great North Run.
I am going to run to raise money for the college charity (yet to be decided by the students for 2013).
This is a great target for me as I will gain what I want out of it and raise money for charity.
Even better, I logged on to the www.greatrun.org to register my interest and noticed a training programme, so I registered on the training programme and I LOVE IT!!!
My 'real' training doesn't start until May........brilliant news to me and to slowly get me ready for my training I have to start with a brisk 15 walk on Sunday.
This is the kind of training that I like, plus with one gym session tomorrow, I feel I am actually making a positive change to a plan I've had for years!!!
This activity will also encourage me to blog more about the experience too, so two birds, one stone :)
